abstract | The invention relates to a device for gripping a container (1) having a neck (3), said neck (3) comprising a wall from which a radial flange (2) projects, whereby the gripping device can support the container (1) by the neck (3) thereof. The device includes a vacuum hood (5) comprising: a ring joint (8) that can co-operate with the flange (2) of the neck (3), and means (11) for (i) forming a vacuum in a chamber (15) defined by the wall of the neck, a peripheral wall (12) of the hood (5) and the ring joint (8) and (ii) releasing the container (1). The device is characterised in that the hood (5) includes a substantially flat base which, by means of the joint (16), can co-operate hermetically with the rim (18) of the neck (3) in order to form a toroidal chamber. |
