abstract A glass for a diffusion layer for use in an organic LED element, which contains, in a mol% in terms of an oxide content, 0 to 20% of P2O5, 15 to 60% of B2O3, 15 to 28% of Bi2O3 and 20 to 50% of ZnO, wherein the value determined by dividing the content of P2O5 by the content of ZnO is less than 0.48, the sum total of the contents of P2O5 and B2O3 is 30 to 60%, the content of P2O5 is 10% or less when the sum total of the contents of P2O5 and B2O3 is more than 50%, and lead (PbO or Pb3O4), Li2O, Na2O and K2O are not substantially contained unless these components are contained as impurities.
