abstract |
Disclosed is a low-cost optical film which comprises a low refractive index layer that has excellent hardness and abrasion resistance, while exhibiting high anti-reflection properties.nSpecifically disclosed is an optical film which comprises a low refractive index layer having a film thickness (d) on one surface side of a light-transmitting base. The optical film is characterized in that: the low refractive index layer contains hollow particles having an average primary particle diameter of 10-100 nm and solid particles having a dispersion average particle diameter of 1-20 nm that is not more than a half of the film thickness (d); at least one hollow particle is in contact with an interface of the low refractive index layer, while being covered with a cured resin of the low refractive index layer, in a cross-section of the low refractive index layer in the film thickness direction within a region having a width of 500 nm in the layer plane direction, said interface being on the reverse side of the light-transmitting base-side of the low refractive index layer; the solid particles occupy not less than 50% of the region of the interface other than the portion(s) in contact with the hollow particle(s); and the solid particles are unevenly distributed in the region from the interface to the depth equal to twice the dispersion average particle diameter of the solid particles in the film thickness direction. Also disclosed are: a polarizing plate comprising the optical film; a display panel; and a display device. |
