Provided is a heat-sensitive recording material which has no coating defects and exhibits excellent color development, image quality and chemical resistance. The heat-sensitive recording material is sequentially laminated, on a support body, with an undercoat layer, a heat-sensitive recording layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer, and a protective layer, and contains, as the main pigment of the heat-sensitive recording layer, 4 to 60 mass% of kaolin, the average particle diameter of which measured using the precipitation method is 0.1 to 0.4µm, relative to the total solid content of the heat-sensitive recording layer. Moreover, the heat-sensitive recording layer and the protective layer are formed by simultaneously coating multiple layers using a coating solution for the heat-sensitive coating layer and a coating solution for the protective layer by means of the curtain coating method, and drying said coating solutions. |
