Disclosed is a honeycomb filter exhibiting excellent NOx purification efficiency. The honeycomb filter comprises a honeycomb structure, in which a plurality of cells separated by cell walls and sealed at either end are arranged in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the structure, and a zeolite which is supported on the cell walls of the honeycomb structure. The filter is characterised in that the amount of zeolite supported on the cell walls is 80-150g/l, that the cell walls of the honeycomb structure have a porosity of 55-65% and a thickness of 0.2-0.3mm, that the cell density in the cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the honeycomb structure is 46.5-62.0 cells/cm², and that the plurality of cells comprise large capacity cells and small capacity cells, and the area of the cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the large capacity cells and the area of the cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the small capacity cells have an area ratio of 1.4-2.4. |
