abstract | A method for implanting a breast implant (10) into a subject, the method includes: providing a sterile, flexible, elastic biodegradable bag (12, 20) sized to contain the breast implant (10); providing a sterile breast implant (10); inserting, using sterile handling, the sterile breast implant (10) into the sterile bag (12, 20) to form a sterile breast implant assembly; closing the bag (12, 20) to fully enclose the implant (10) within the bag (12, 20); and implanting in a sterile manner the sterile breast implant assembly into the subject. A sterile bag (20), which may be provided in a kit, preferably for use with the method, includes first and second chambers (22, 24) connected by a channel (26) for moving a breast implant (12) from the first chamber (22) through the channel (26) to the second chamber (24) without directly touching the implant (10). An incision dilator (36) may also be included with the kit or separately provided for use in a preferred embodiment of the method. |
