abstract Provided is a durable, long-lasting pest repellent that has excellent resistance to heat and solvents and can be incorporated into resin molded products and synthetic fibers. The pest-repellent action of said pest repellent continues to last even if used for a long time and/or washed. The essential component of the provided pest repellent is N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide and/or 1-piperidine carboxylic acid-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-methylpropylester. Supporting said pest repellent on a specific layered silicate results in a durable pest repellent that is both highly heat-resistant and long-lasting.
