The present invention comprises a method for synthesizing metal complexes from macrocyclic polyazapyridinophanes, characterized in that said complexes imitate the enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD). In addition, the present invention relates to the actual macrocyclic polyazapyridinophane metal compounds, to the metal complexes formed therefrom and to the use thereof in therapy for treating diseases in which the etiology is based on endogenous SOD activity anomalies, principally as anti-inflammatories, analgesics and antioxidants that protect against oxidative cell stress. |
