abstract Disclosed is a chromene compound which has a skeleton represented by formula (1) and shows a double peak profile. In formula (1), Z represents a group represented by any of formulae (2) [wherein R1 represents an electron-donating group having a Hammett's sigma para value (sp) of less than -0.20, and when there are a plurality of R1's, they may be the same as or different from each other; and R2 represents a group having a sp of -0.20 to 0 inclusive, and when there are a plurality of R2's, they may be the same as or different from each other]; and a represents an integer of 1 to 3, and when a is 2 or 3, Z's may be the same as or different from each other, provided that (3) should not be (4).
