Disclosed are: a photoelectric conversion element material which can be used as an electrode buffering material for a solar cell or the like and can improve the durability of the solar cell while keeping the interaction with an electrode and mobility; a photoelectric conversion element produced using the photoelectric conversion element material; and a solar cell utilizing the photoelectric conversion element. The photoelectric conversion element is characterized by comprising a buffering layer and an active layer, wherein the buffering layer contains a compound represented by general formula (I) and the active layer contains an n-type semiconductor, and wherein the n-type semiconductor has a solubility in toluene of 0.5 wt% or more at 25°C and has an electron mobility of 1.0 × 10 -6 cm 2 /Vs or more. |
