titleOfInvention | Emulsifier composition comprising an alkenyl succinic anhydride, method, and use thereof |
abstract | The present invention relates to a composition capable of emulsifying alkenyl succinic anhydrides (ASA) of general formula (I), used to make paper hydrophobic, providing a better resistance to lactic acid and to hydrogen peroxide. Said invention simplifies and improves the current way of using ASA, and noticeably reduces the formation of succinic acid particles, or the salt forms thereof, during the paper making process. Said invention allows for the simplification of the unit dose/emulsion. Said composition may be used not only as a mass coating but also as a superficial coating, both in a coating device as well as in spray, by mixing or not mixing the composition with starch or any other compatible products on the table or paper making form. The nozzle spray will not present any problems and an excellent coating base will be achieved at a very low cost and without damaging the drying procedure. |
