Protection circuit, battery pack, and charging system |
abstract |
Provided is a protection circuit that is provided with: connecting terminals that receive a voltage for charging a rechargeable battery; switching elements installed in between the aforementioned connecting terminals and the aforementioned rechargeable battery; thermal fuses for cutting off the conductive path between the aforementioned connecting terminals and the aforementioned switching elements; a heater for melting the aforementioned thermal fuses; a voltage detecting unit for detecting a voltage related to the aforementioned conductive path; a first-abnormality detecting unit that detects that a first-abnormality, which is set in advance as an abnormality from which recovery is possible, has occurred; a second-abnormality detecting unit that detects that a second-abnormality, which is set in advance as an abnormality upon which the aforementioned thermal fuses are to be melted, has occurred; a protection control unit that turns off the aforementioned switching elements when the aforementioned first-abnormality is detected by the aforementioned first-abnormality detecting unit; and a heater control unit that executes a thermal-fuse melting process that applies the voltage of the aforementioned conductive path to the aforementioned heater, when the aforementioned second-abnormality is detected by the aforementioned second-abnormality detecting unit, and the voltage detected by the aforementioned voltage detecting unit is equal to or more than a prescribed threshold voltage value. |
