A process for production of alkyl esters is disclosed. The process comprises reacting a feedstock that includes one or more fatty acid glycerol esters or one or more fatty acids or mixture thereof with a C 5 to C 12 alcohol in the presence of fly ash as a catalyst. A catalyst composite material for the production of alkyl esters having a C 5 to C 12 alkyl chain from a feedstock including one or more fatty acid glycerol esters or one or more fatty acids or mixture thereof, wherein the catalyst includes fly ash is also disclosed. |
