titleOfInvention Method for identifying peptides and proteins according to mass spectrometry data
abstract The present invention relates to a method for identifying peptides and proteins according to mass spectrometry data using a plurality of search engines, characterised in that said method includes: a) modelling the scores calculated in each engine; b) including the presence of concordance parameters; c) modelling the distribution of meta-scores using distribution functions; d) building the scores of the peptide and the precursor protein. The main advantages of the invention include the flexibility thereof for being applied to an arbitrary number of engines, the use of concordance parameters that aggregate additional information not available with a single engine, the increased number of peptides and proteins identified or the versatility of the invention for including other additional sources of information, according to the type of experiment analysed.
