titleOfInvention Process and plant for forming ceramic tiles, slabs and sheets
abstract The process begins with the deposition, on a filtering belt (201), with continuous movement in one direction, of a layer of a ceramic aqueous suspension held in a storage hopper (100), the amount deposited being controlled by a blade (101) and a device (102) for controlling the thickness. The ceramic layer deposited passes on to a vacuum filtering device (300), where some of the water contained passes through the filtering belt (201) through the effect of the pressure difference created. The sheet thus formed moves with the filtering belt (201) to a mechanical‑compression filtering device (400), where said sheet is subjected to increasing pressure between an upper, impermeable belt (411) and a lower, permeable belt (421). The sheet is ultimately transferred to a continuous pressing station (500), where the ceramic sheet is compacted by means of the pressure exerted between an upper belt (511) and a lower belt (521).
