abstract | The invention relates to a compound comprising a chromophore of formula (II), wherein m is an integer from 1 to 4, preferably 1 or 2; Q 2 is a residue of carbon black or of a chromophore which comprises at least one group of the formula (I) or a cis/trans isomer thereof, wherein Z 1 and Z 2 are each independently of the other O or N---, each Cā is independently of all others Cā a carbon atom with an electron in a p orbital, and n is an integer from 1 to 4; G 1 is a divalent group consisting of a linear chain consisting of 3 or 4 links each selected independently from the others from the group consisting of formula (III), (IV), (V), (VI), (VII) and formula (VIII), said links being sequentially connected together within the chain in any order by single bonds or, in case of two adjacent formula (VII) and/or formula (VIII), by double bonds, with the proviso that at least each one of the links are formula (IV) and formula (IX); R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are each independently of the others H, halogen, OH, NH 2 , NO 2 , R 7 , OR 7 , SR 7 , NR 6 R 7 , COR 7 , CO 2 R 7 , CONR 6 R 7 or SO 2 R 7 ; each R 4 is independently from any other R 4 H or R 7, preferably H, methyl or ethyl, most preferred H; each R 5 is independently from any other R 5 H, halogen, OH, NH 2 , NO 2 , R 7 , OR 7 , SR 7 , NR 6 R 7 , COR 7 , CONR 6 R 7 or SO 2 R 7 ; R 6 is H, a direct bond to a geminal R 5 or R 7 , thus forming a 3-to 8-membered homo-or heterocyclic ring, or independently from any other R 7 a group R 7; each R 7 is independently of any other R 7 C 1 -C 8 alkyl,C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl, C 2 -C 8 alkenyl, C 2 -C 8 alkinyl or C 3 -C 8 cycloalkenyl which are eachunsubstituted or substituted with one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of halogens, amino and hydroxy, and are uninterrupted or interrupted by one or more -O-, -S-, -NH-or -N(C 1 -C 4 alkyl)-;and m is an integer from 1 to 4, preferably 1 or 2, as well as the use of these compounds to improve therheology in coatings, colour filtersand pigment compositions comprising these compounds in additionto pigments comprising chromophores of the structure [Q2]ā[H] m . |
