titleOfInvention Dispersant for pigment and use thereof
abstract Disclosed is a dispersant for pigments composed of (meth)acrylic acid (co)polymers or a dispersant for various inorganic particles, which has high dispersion stabilizing effect and is capable of stably dispersing pigments and various inorganic particles for a long time, while suppressing an increase of viscosity or a decrease of pH of slurry thereof over time and thus maintaining good fluidity of the slurry.nConventional slurry of an inorganic pigment that has a small particle size is likely to have an increased slurry viscosity since the interaction between the particles is strong due to increased surface areas and thus causes aggregation of the particles.nSpecifically disclosed is a dispersant for a pigment which is composed of a partially neutralized product of (A) a polymer of (a) an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer or (B) a copolymer that is composed of 80-99% by mole of a unit of (a) the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and 1-20% by mole of another unit that is composed of either (b) a (meth)acrylate ester monomer and/or (c) a (meth)acrylate ester monomer of a polyalkylene glycol (with (a) + (b) + (c) being 100% by mole). The dispersant for a pigment is characterized in that ammonia or an organic amine is used as a neutralizing agent.
