abstract The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a chlorine e6-folic acid conjugated compound and chitosan for the treatment of cancer. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a chlorine e6-folic acid conjugated compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and chitosan as active ingredients for the photodynamic treatment of solid cancer, wherein the chlorine e6-folic acid conjugated compound is a new compound in the combined form of a chlorine e6 and a folic acid, produces singlet oxygen effectively in various media, and has a useful characteristic for the photodynamic therapy for a malignant tumor due to its remarkably excellent tumor selectivity compared with conventional porphyrin-based photosensitizers.
