The invention relates to compositions of the formula [M(L)a(Z)b]m+ ° [AI(OR1)4]- m, in which M is a metal atom, R1 independently is (i) C7 to C18 arylalkyl residues with 1 to 9 fluorine atoms each, wherein said fluorine atoms do not emerge as substituents in the aromatic ring systems, or (ii) aliphatic, heterocyclic, or from the residues (i) differing hydrocarbon residues with aromatic structure elements with 1 to 18 carbon atoms each, which can contain fluorine atoms, wherein at least one variable R1 stands for a residue (i), L are solvent molecules, and Z are ligands, and are suitable as polymerization catalysts for isobutes or isobute-containing monomer compositions for producing highly reactive isobute homopolymers, or isobute copolymers with a number-average molecular weight Mn from 500 to 1,000,000. |
