abstract Disclosed is a prevention method which enables the prevention of the reduction in the activity of an enzyme which occurs during drying a solution containing the enzyme. In the drying of a solution containing an enzyme, the content of an anti-freezing solution in the solution is set at less than 50 w/v %. When the enzyme-containing solution is dried under this condition, the reduction in the activity of the enzyme caused by the drying can be prevented satisfactorily. The enzyme is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, a polymerase such as Taq polymerase, a DNA glycosylase such as uracil DNA glycosylase, or the like.
