abstract The present invention relates to multimeric small interfering RNA (siRNA) and a preparation method therefor. More particularly, the present invention relates to multimeric siRNA having structural formula (-X-A-)n (wherein X is a double-stranded siRNA monomer, A may be present or absent and represents a crosslinker or a polymer, and n is the number of a double-stranded siRNA monomers) connected by double-stranded sense / antisense siRNA monomers through direct, cross link or polymer-mediated covalent bond, and a preparation method therefor. In the method for preparing multimeric siRNA of the present invention, the reaction is simple and highly effective. As the multimerized siRNA prepared by said method has a molecular weight greater than that of existing siRNA by several times or more, it shows an excellent ionic bonding force with a cationic gene carrier owing to a high anionic charge density, thereby capable of remarkably improving the efficiency of gene delivery.
