titleOfInvention Pillow for surgical operations
abstract The present invention relates to a pillow for surgical operations, which is conveniently used in throat or chest surgical operations. The pillow for surgical operation comprises: a chest holding portion with a smooth inclined surface of sequentially increasing height from a thin end portion at one side; a neck holding portion formed with a ridge which is adjacent to the other side of the chest holding portion; and a head supporting portion comprising a semi-spherical curved slope portion between both shoulder portions which is formed near the ridge, and a circular concave portion which is surrounded by the semi-spherical curved slope portion. The chest holding portion, neck holding portion, and head supporting portion are integrally formed by latex or polyurethane foam resin. The pillow for surgical operations according to the present invention has excellent pressure dispersion and shape restoring force, thus the head portion can be comfortably supported during neck or chest surgical operations. In addition, the pillow can effectively facilitate operations by naturally protruding the neck portion and upper chest portion upward. Also, the pillow is resistant to contamination by blood or body fluid, prevents contamination by microorganisms, is easy to clean, and has high drug resistance.
