Provided is a method for producing a fullerene film using a fullerene derivative as the starting material, with which a fullerene film can be easily produced by the wet method; mass production is possible; the original properties of fullerene can be maintained without compromise; and further, the pyrolysis product is a gas free of nitrogen compounds at the decomposition temperature and does not remain in the film. A solution of the fullerene derivative, which pyrolyzes at 100 to 400°C and the pyrolysis product of which is a gas free of nitrogen compounds at the decomposition temperature, is applied to a substrate, and the resulting film is heated at a temperature that is higher than the pyrolysis temperature of the fullerene derivative but lower than the pyrolysis temperature of fullerene in order to at least partially pyrolyze the fullerene derivative. |
