abstract The invention relates to a device (10; 70) for determining the presence and/or the volume of one or more analytes in a sample of a bodily fluid of a person. The device has a receptacle (12; 72) and at least one test strip (18) that has an absorbent section (19) and reagents for determining the presence and/or the volume of the analyte. There is furthermore a holding element (13; 73) for receiving and holding the test strip(s) (18). The device furthermore has a longitudinal sample removal element (20; 44; 60; 80), having an absorbent sample holder (22; 51; 61; 82), wherein the sample removal element (20; 44; 60; 80) can be inserted into the receptacle (12; 72). Furthermore, there is a central elevation (30; 79) in the receptacle (12; 72) on the floor (15; 75) thereof via which the sample can be introduced from the sample holder (22; 51; 61, 82) to the at least one test strip (18) by compression thereof on the elevation (16; 79).
