Provided are alkaline rechargeable batteries that have ample long term charge-discharge cycle performance, while having a low impact on the human body and the environment, and that can be manufactured inexpensively, due to the fact that binders that are easy to handle in the manufacturing process and have excellent adhesiveness and long-term durability are used for the electrodes. An electrode binder that comprises an organic-inorganic hybrid material wherein an acrylic-silicone-urethane copolymer and silica have been hybridized, and that is an aqueous, single liquid cross-linking material that contains no fluorine, is used in at least the positive electrode mixture or the negative electrode mixture of an alkaline rechargeable battery that is provided with an electrolyte solution comprising an aqueous alkaline solution, a positive electrode body that is made by coating a substrate with a positive electrode mixture that comprises a positive electrode active material, and a negative electrode body that is made by coating a substrate with a negative electrode mixture that comprises a negative electrode active material. |
