Disclosed is an emulsion composition produced by mixing an oily phase and an aqueous phase, wherein the oily phase contains a carotenoid having a melting point of 100˚C or higher as detected in a state contained in an oil and the aqueous phase contains a polyglycerin fatty acid ester and a nonionic emulsifying agent that is different from the polyglycerin fatty acid ester. In the emulsion composition, the ratio of the content (A) of the polyglycerin fatty acid ester and the content (B) of the nonionic emulsifying agent that is different from the polyglycerin fatty acid ester (i.e., (A)/(B)) is 2.5 to 10 by mass, and the particle diameter of each of dispersed particles that contain the carotenoid is 200 nm or less. |
