Disclosed is a coating composition containing metal oxide fine particles having a high refractive index and low photocatalytic activity. Also disclosed is a curable coating film obtained by applying the coating composition onto a base.nThe coating composition contains high-refractive-index metal oxide fine particles each obtained by coating the surface of a specific titanium-based fine particle having a rutile type crystal structure with a silica-containing oxide or a silica-containing complex oxide. The curable coating film is obtained by applying the coating composition onto a base. Since the metal oxide fine particles have not only a high refractive index but also low photocatalytic activity, the coating composition can form a coating film having excellent weather resistance and excellent light resistance on a base. |
