abstract The invention relates to a dielectric fluid composition containing 60 - 63 wt.% monounsaturated fatty acid, 20 - 23 wt.% diunsaturated fatty acid, 5 - 7 wt.-% triunsaturated fatty acid, and 6 - 8 wt.-% saturated fatty acid, such that the dielectric fluid is free of antioxidants and/or external additives and has the following properties: dielectric strength of between 40 kV and 70 kV at a separation of 2 mm, a dielectric constant of between 2.5 and 3.1 at 25°C and a dissipation factor of between 0.05 % and 0.15 % at 25°C. The dielectric fluid composition can be obtained by combining: between 95.5 wt.-% and 99.25 wt.-% of at least one high-oleic vegetable oil, between 0.25 wt.-% and 1.5 % wt.-% grape seed oil; between 0.25 wt.-% and 1.5 wt.-% sesame oil; and between 0.25 wt.-% and 1.5 wt.-% rice oil.
