Provided is a water-based ink for inkjet printing, comprising: polymer particles (A) containing a dye, which are obtained by dispersing a dye in a water-soluble polymer (x) and a water-insoluble polymer (y); a water-soluble organic solvent (B); and water, wherein the weight ratio of the water-insoluble polymer (y) to the water-soluble polymer (x) [(y)/(x)] is between 2.0 and 5.0, and the water-soluble organic solvent (B) content is 10 to 70 wt%. The water-based ink for inkjet printing has excellent discharge properties and print density and a low viscosity. Also provided is a method for producing an aqueous dispersion for inkjet printing, which makes it possible to achieve high print density to cope with high-speed printing. The method comprises (I) a step in which a dye dispersion is mixed with a water-insoluble polymer emulsion comprising an organic solvent, (II) a step in which the resulting mixture is dispersed to obtain a dispersion wherein the water-insoluble polymer is deposited on the dye; and (III) a step in which the inorganic solvent is removed from the resulting dispersion. |
