titleOfInvention Sailcloth with high 1% warp and high warp efficiency and method of making same
abstract A woven sailcloth with high 1% warp and high warp efficiency, as well as a method of making the same sailcloth. The sailcloth may include a conventional plain weave warp and fill yarn layout. The sailcloth may additionally incorporate a ripstop pattern. The ratio of the warp to fill yarns, bias, weight, strength, yarn count, density and other qualities of either or both of the warp or fill yarns may be adjusted to provide the desired sail properties. Additionally, the sail may be constructed of one or more panels of woven sailcloth utilizing materials such as the above mentioned yarn. Such sailcloth is significantly less susceptible to load force stretch and creep among other things.
