abstract |
Processes for obtaining a ganglioside-enriched extract or one or more gangliosides from a ganglioside-containing lipid composition (GCLC) are disclosed. The processes comprise: (a) mixing a GCLC with one or more C 4 -C 10 alcohols and water to produce a composition comprising an aqueous phase and an organic phase, and (b) substantially separating the aqueous phase from the organic phase, and wherein the aqueous phase comprises a ganglioside-enriched extract or one or more gangliosides. |
