titleOfInvention | Dye-sensitized solar cell and process for producing same |
abstract | A dye-sensitized solar cell is provided which can attain a high photo-electric conversion efficiency, can be produced at low cost, and has a highly attractive appearance. Also provided is a process for producing the cell. Porous titanium oxide layers (2a to 2d) having a dye supported thereon are formed on a transparent conductive substrate (1) so that the layers are made to have a given color and constitute a given pattern by adequately selecting the kind of sensitizing dye, thickness, multilayer structure, and particle diameter of the fine titanium oxide particles or blending ratio in the case where the fine titanium oxide particles comprise two or more kinds of fine titanium oxide particles differing in particle diameter. The transparent conductive substrate (1) having the porous titanium oxide layers (2a to 2d) having a dye supported thereon is laminated through a sealing material (5) to a transparent conductive substrate (3) having a counter electrode (4) formed thereon, the laminating being conducted so that the porous titanium oxide layers (2a to 2d) having a dye supported thereon and the counter electrode (4) face each other. An electrolyte layer (6) is enclosed in the space between these substrates to produce a dye-sensitized solar cell. |
