Disclosed is a process for producing a specific sulfuric acid ester salt, which comprises the steps of: supplying a specific raw material compound containing an oxypropylene group to reaction tubes respectively arranged in at least two temperature-controllable jackets through which a temperature-controlled fluid can flow, while allowing the raw material compound to flow down the inner walls of the reaction tubes to form thin films of the raw material compound on the surfaces of the inner walls of the reaction tubes and, at the same time, supplying an SO 3 gas to the reaction tubes to cause the reaction between the raw material compound and the SO 3 gas, thereby producing a sulfated product; and neutralizing the sulfated product. In the process, the at least two jackets comprise an upstream jacket that is arranged upstream in the flow direction of the raw material compound and a downstream jacket that is arranged downstream in the flow direction of the raw material compound, and the jackets are used under specified conditions. |
