The invention relates to a method for speed control of an engine (230) of a motor vehicle (100) with automatic transmission at the time of engaging a clutch (235) of the vehicle when setting said vehicle in motion, comprising the steps of: - requesting a desired clutch torque (T Cr ); - determining current clutch torque (T c ) of the clutch (235) and a closing rate (clutch torque increase (T c ) for the clutch (235) at the time of engaging it; - determining a dynamic torque increase (T D ) required for providing the engine speed increase required when engaging the clutch (235) at said closure rate; - determining, on the basis of parameters comprising said current clutch torque (T c ) and said dynamic torque increase (T0), a necessary engine torque (T En ) for achieving said requested clutch torque (T Cr ); - determining from said necessary engine torque (T En ) for the engine (230) a necessary engine speed (ω En ) for achieving said requested clutch torque (T Cr ); - raising the engine speed (ω En )to the necessary engine speed (ω En ) if the necessary engine speed (ω En ) is greater than a predetermined engine speed (ω Ed ) ■ The invention relates also to a device for control of engine speed, a motor vehicle, a computer programme for control of engine speed, and a computer programme and computer programme product. |
