abstract The invention relates to a method for manufacturing leather, characterized in that animal skins or semi-finished products are treated with a formaldehyde-free formulation of at least one compound of the general Formula (I) in a solvent or a solvent mixture comprising at least one multivalent alcohol, wherein the variables are defined as follows: n is a whole number in the range of zero to 5, t is a whole number in the range of one to 4, m is different or the same and is from 1 to 20, AO is a different or same alkylene oxide selected from propylene oxide, 1,2- butylene oxide, 1,4-butylene oxide, 2,3-butylene oxide, 1,2-pentene oxide and 1,2- hexene oxide, wherein overall up to 20 mol-% of AO can be ethylene oxide.
