Excellent-formability and high-strength steel tube excellent in chemical convesion treatability and process for production of same |
abstract |
Provided are an excellent-formability and high-strength steel tube excellent in chemical conversion treatability and a process for production of same. The steel tube is produced by using, as the base sheet, a steel sheet which contains by mass C: 0.05% or more, Si: more than 0.7% and Mn: 0.8% or more and working the steel sheet into a pipe-shaped product via working steps in such a way that the absolute values of circumferential surface strains given in the working steps make a total of 5% or above in terms of nominal strain. Thus, a welded steel tube having excellent chemical conversion treatability can be obtained without conducting mechanical grinding or chemical pickling even when a steel sheet having an Si content exceeding 0.7% is used as the base sheet. |
