titleOfInvention Artificial muscle
abstract The invention relates to an artificial electric muscle with two endpieces (12, 14) lying opposite each other, with two electrode element groups (16, 24) made up of flexible electrode elements (18) which are arranged next to one another along a surface (F1, F2) and are secured via their ends to the endpieces (12, 14) and make contact with, respectively, an anode or cathode (20, 32), and with a deformable  dielectric (26), which is arranged between the first electrode element group (16) and the second electrode element group (24) such that it cannot penetrate the electrode element groups (16, 24), wherein the electrode elements (22, 18) are elastic in a longitudinal direction (A), and the dielectric (26) is incompressible, such that when a voltage is applied between the anode (20) and the cathode (32), the electrode elements (22, 18) deform in such a way that the first endpiece (12) and the second endpiece (14) move relative to each other.
