titleOfInvention Effective nitric oxide generating preparations
abstract The invention discloses an orally compatible, palatable composition suitable as a Nitric Oxide (NO) in vivo enhancer. The aforementioned composition comprises an effective dosage of a soluble nitrate substrate. The main innovation is that the nitrate substrate is adapted for prolonged interaction with the saliva of the patient. Furthermore the nitrate substrate is suitable for at least partial nitrification to endothelially absorbable nitrite ions by the naturally occurring anaerobic nitrifying bacteria of the saliva.
