abstract |
Disclosed is a technology which is favorable for the implementation of a light-emitting device that uses an ECL element. The light-emitting device includes: a light-emitting layer (12) which includes a solution containing a light-emitting material and a solvent; electrodes (11a, 11b) in contact with the solution; a voltage supply circuit (2) which applies an operating voltage between the electrodes (11a, 11b); an ammeter (3) which measures the magnitude of the current flowing between the electrodes (11a, 11b); and a controller (5) which controls the operation of the voltage supply circuit (2) so as to invert the polarity of the operating voltage and which determines the timing for inversion of the polarity based on the output of the ammeter (3). |
