An infrared light-reflecting black pigment containing no harmful elements, which shows excellent infrared light reflection and has a high reflectance even at a wavelength of 1500 nm in the infrared light region. The black pigment is composed of a complex oxide which contains substantially no Cr, while containing at least Co, Mg, Fe, Al and Cu. The black pigment has a molar ratio Cu/(Co + Mg + Fe + Al + Cu) of 10-90%, an average particle diameter of 0.02-2.0 µm, a solar reflectance of not less than 25%, and a reflectance at a wavelength of 1500 nm in the infrared light region of not less than 23%. |
