titleOfInvention | Cutting edge protection system for tilting-platform tow lorries |
abstract | Road safety system for providing protection against the cutting edge of tilting-platform tow lorries, which complements the existing rear bar underrun protection bumper, based on the principle of arranging a mass directly between the rear edge of the platform and any persons or objects who/which may be struck in the case of the rear being hit by another vehicle travelling behind said tow lorry. The protective body arranged in between has a contact area which is sufficiently broad to prevent cutting, unlike the edge which it covers, preventing the latter from causing incisive or cutting injuries and being able to be easily removed and positioned. The system may incorporate damping means, safety means for protection against unauthorized handling, signalling means of a general nature or with specific characteristics, automatic mechanisms for stowing it away into the rest position during loading and unloading operations, as well as fold-up supports for facilitating these operations. |
