abstract The present invention relates to a method for obtaining transition-metal catalysts supported on a carbonaceous material via impregnation with a solution from the thiourea metal complex, obtained from the precursor salts. Sulphur is formed on the surface of the substrate by thermal decomposition of the complex. The catalysts obtained by means of the process of the present invention are applicable to the direct liquefaction of carbon.
