abstract Disclosed is a therapeutic agent for central nervous system injury, which can treat central nervous system injury effectively.  The therapeutic agent for central nervous system injury comprises a TGF-ß1 inhibitor such as an anti-TGF-ß1 antibody as an active ingredient.  The therapeutic agent for central nervous system injury can treat central nervous system injury effectively.  The therapeutic agent can significantly improve a motor function that has been lost by mechanical contusion of the spinal cord.  Therefore, it is believed that the therapeutic agent can greatly contribute to the treatment of central nervous system injury caused by an accident or a disease.
