Amnion epithelial cells for the treatment of degenerative disc disease |
abstract |
An orthopaedic device and methods for the treatment of degenerative disc disease (DDD) are disclosed that utilise cells such as multipotent amnion epithelial cells (AECs) and/or mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) that may be directed towards a disc cartilage type cell for the in situ generation of intervertebral disc (IVD)-like tissue. In some embodiments, derivative cells of multipotent AECs and/or MSCs may be used. |
