abstract | The invention relates to motor fuels and fuel compositions comprising oxygen-containing compounds (oxygenates), more specifically to the production and use of acetals and/or ketals in the form of oxygenates for producing motor fuels which preserve the physico-chemical properties thereof when brought into contact with water. The acetals and ketals correspond to a gross-formula C n H 2n+2 O 2 and structural formula R 1 C(OR 2 )(OR 3 ), wherein: n = 3 to 14; R 1 is -H; C m H 2m+1 ; C m H 2m ; C m H m ; m = 1 to 4; R 2 and R 3 is C k H 2k+1 ; C k H 2k ; k = 1 to 5; R 2 is optionally equal to R 3 . The use of acetals and / or ketals as motor fuels makes it possible to provide phase stability during a long contact with water, to increase the octane rating of motor fuels, to eliminate social and economical restrictions on the production of oxygenate motor fuel, to extend the list of raw materials owing to the possibility of producing acetals and / or ketals-containing motor fuels at alcohol-producing, oxosynthesis and other production units. |
