abstract Provided is a solar simulator for measuring the characteristics of a multijunction solar cell in a short time and a method of measuring a multijunction solar cell by using the solar simulator. The method of measuring a multijunction solar cell includes a step of causing a halogen lamp (13) to emit a flash light and making a control to flatten the top of a pulse waveform, a step of causing a xenon lamp (14) to emit once or more times a flash light having a pulse waveform whose top is flat and shorter than the flat portion of the flash light from the halogen lamp while the top of the pulse waveform of the flash light from the halogen lamp is flat, and a step of irradiating a solar cell (20) which is a measurement object with the flash lights from the halogen lamp and the xenon lamp and measuring the current and voltage outputted from the solar cell with the load thereof controlled at one point or more during the emission of the flash light(s) from the xenon lamp.
