Binding emulsion, production method thereof and use of same as a conditioning thinning medium and as a binding medium in etching inks and paints |
abstract |
The invention relates to a colourless binding emulsion formulated for use as a conditioning thinning medium or as a binder in the production of paints and inks of the oil-resin tempera type intended for professional artistic use. The emulsion is characterised in that both water and oil media are incorporated by means of phase inversion processes, with continuous and reversible alternation in mixtures and dilutions with selected compositions. The emulsion is also characterised in that it can incorporate up to 85% of an oil or water phase at the inversion point. The basic composition thereof comprises at least: 62%-82% base binder; 6%-16% water phase; and 6%-16% of a complex emulsifying solution containing at least one sorbitan ester and at least a second non-ionic emulsifier, combined with preferably fresh hen's egg protein and a hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose polymer. The invention also relates to the method for producing said binding emulsion, including a first cycle comprising the preparation of each of the phases forming the emulsion and a final cycle in which said phases are mixed in steps. |
