titleOfInvention Method and specimen for detecting sensitivity to isoniazid in tubercle bacillus
abstract Disclosed is a novel means for detecting the sensitivity to isoniazid (INH) in a tubercle bacillus, i.e., for determining whether or not a tubercle bacillus is an INH-resistant bacterium, more reliably.  Specifically disclosed is a method for detecting the sensitivity to isoniazid in a tubercle bacillus, which comprises the steps of: obtaining a fabG1 gene of the tubercle bacillus in a sample; and detecting the occurrence of a mutation associated with the resistance to isoniazid in the fabG1 gene.  If required, the method may further include a step of detecting the occurrence of a mutation in a furA gene of the tubercle bacillus.  Preferably, the method is combined with another known isoniazid resistance detection method.
