titleOfInvention Method for electrochemically covering an insulating substrate
abstract The invention relates to a method for providing a metallic, ceramic or composite coating over the surface of a non-conductive material such as plastic, ceramic or wood. The method according to the invention comprises the following steps: A) preparation of a polypyrrol dispersion in paint with an aqueous base or in an acid type water soluble pure resin; B) dilution of the dispersion obtained in the previous step with an alcohol in a factor of 1.5; C) application of the dispersion of the conductive polymer obtained in step B) to the surface to be covered and drying of same; and D) production of the metallic, ceramic or composite coating by means of an electrolytic process or electrophoretic deposition.
