titleOfInvention | Temporary and disposable immobilization devices of the orthopaedic splint type |
abstract | The present invention relates to the medical sector. In particular the present invention relates to temporary and disposable immobilization devices of the orthopaedic splint type for the treatment and care of patients during the pre-hospitalization and first-aid stage. Specifically, with the devices according to the present invention it is possible to immobilize certain parts of the bodies of patients, such as the neck, leg, arm, forearm and hand, when said limbs have suffered injury, so as to reduce thereby the possibility of causing a more serious injury or subsequent complications. The immobilization devices according to the present invention are more economical than the devices which are currently available since they use low-cost materials; furthermore, owing to their disposable nature, they reduce considerably the possibility of infections since they are disposable devices which are not used for different patients; finally they have an ergonomic design, which reduces significantly any discomfort for the patient. |
